To Do List?

Anybody else find themselves seeing a remarkable parallel between this flick and The To Do List? I realize this one was made first. Wonder if it directly influenced the other? Obviously one is a more hollywoodized comedy and this is a more depressing emotionally raw indie but... smart girl purposefully challenges herself to do sexual things to advance herself and not for the sake of the emotional connection... out of reach jock guy winds up being sexual conquest and actually beneath the nerdy inexperienced female protagonist... nerdy third wheel wants (in this case the guy) and the dynamic between the three of them causes mayhem.
