It's one of the better movies i have seen lately. At least much better than that Ram Gopal verma ki God Father !

shareI regret watching it. Agreed it was shot well n acting wasnt bad either but i expect some sensible plot from a movie(however improbable it is.) May be the director intended to take a documentary or something like a day in an innocent man's life.. I have seen hundreds of movies(including some truly terrible movies) and never have i felt the compulsion to write a review for one. The worst thing about this movie is the STUPID & UNACCEPTABLE message it conveys. I wonder whether the director made this movie to help terrorists to do their job better.
I didnt watch the film expecting some peppy numbers or other traditional bollywood ingredients but to see something different than the usual storyline. Now i'm deeply disappointed. But what makes me wonder is the response it has got in IMDB & how people encourage it.. Pure piece of crap!
Why do U feel the movie is stupid? I seems you were expecting some kind of message through the movie, and you got a different one. It does not encourage terrorism, infact the final act by the protagonist in the movie is a way to say no to terrorism whatever the situation is.
The hero of the movie had everything he wanted, a good profession, a girl friend, everything but he sacrifices his life just to show that terrorism is not a religious thing, but political (that's my opinion).
IMO, it is one of the best endings b-coz he was a common man and not a hero... N that's what he could have managed at the max.

just two days back i saw a movie called "mujse shaadi karogi" and i wonder what the message of that movie was!!...(apparently, it did quite well at the boxoffice too!). my point is, bollywood movies are often nonsensical keep-your-brain-aside **entertainment** (for lack of better word). In contrast, this movie has a tight, well-narrated plot, the acting is reasonable, and the cinematography is quite wonderful. Having lived in bhendi bazaar/dongri for 20 years, i know how difficult it can be to shoot large parts of the movie in such areas. One might argue, why on earth was an NRI doctor chosen here. i don't think there is a valid justification for that. Infact, i don't think that has any consequence to the storyline itself. the movie is addressing the issue of fanaticism and it think it does a good job in conveying the point.

shareIts not necessary that a movie should always give out a message neither is it necessary for a movie to please everyone who watches it. So if the some people say its crap i am happy to listen why and start a debate on this.
Apart from that, I felt the movie had its short comings. Like the plot is not so believeable, a network of terrorists so well organised that they could actually follow aamir's every movement, whether in a hotel room or anywhere they could have found an easier manner to do a bomb blast. I don't see it to be the best of the methods to do that. But I had a suspicion that it was their method of engulfing aamir into their network. However I don't buy that crap! that storyline is weak.
But again, the movie is a thorough entertainer. Its got a gripping screenplay. The suspense is kept in amazing manner. Even better is the camera work. One sceen when it shows the doll which runs and stops captures the thoughts of aamir so well. Even if we don't classify it to be a great movie, its definitely one of the better movies Bollywood has produced offlate.
Nick of time? Dude, u r way off the mark. This is a copy of the 2005 Filipino film Cavite. If anything at all, the closest thing u'd get in Hollywood to this movie is the Farrell flick Phonebooth. And this was way better in terms of pace and narration than Phonebooth did. And a message too.

shareI don't think the network's plan to get Aamir to do it was flawed or not believable, it was a great plan and part of the message the bald guy on the phone was trying to get across to Aamir.
A lot of people would remember seeing a clean-cut, well-dressed man walking around with a red briefcase - because such a man looks completely out of place in that kind of an area. Why did the cop start chasing him? Exactly for the same reasons
1. The guy is too well-dressed to be from the neighborhood or even be connected to the neighborhood in any way.
2. He made a call to Karachi.
Ergo he can't be up to any good - its a racist conclusion.
It's an ingenious solution to a problem that should never have existed in the first place.
I wouldn't say total crap, as someone else said, but the one-dimensional, cardboard characters were so badly written and most of the plot was so unimaginative that an average rating of almost 8 is way too high. A much better film is Mumbai Meri Jaan.
