Wasted?

Your opinion, just like so many others that hold no water, is meaningless and completely irrelevant.

It's just a movie.

Could not agree more.

Embarassing, to say the very least.

They got fooled/suckered/DESPERATE.

reply

Annnnnd? They wanted to do the film. Portman said she had a great time making it, as did Franco. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean those that were involved didn't enjoy it.

I guess you're right... i just like them both, two of my favorite actors, i really hated this movie, for me was just stupid dirty jokes and it doesn't add nothing new to this kind of movie, i don't know, i just hated it. if they had fun doing it, and gain a few more bucks.. well, i guess your're right.

so...yeah... Billions of people on this planet have to do work that doesn't even feed them and propably will kill them eventually... but you feel sorry for some superstar-actors who earn MILLIONS of Dollars for a few weeks /months work...

By god - I would have LOVED to work for this movie... but it's true: There's nothing better than having first world problems...

Thank you for shutting that idiot up.

Obviously toy're not intelligent enough to understand what he just said. He hates the movie and they're some of his favorite actors. Instead of saying he felt sorry for them he probably should have said he was disappointed that they'd be in this piece of garbage. Maybe they signed up for a movie that didn't turn out the way they had hoped, so in that way sympathy would be in order. I can't imagine they'd sign up for a movie like this again. It's so below them, but it's still too good for danny mcbride

They enjoyed making this movie because they didn't have to memorize any lines.
All they had to do was get stoned and improvise their lines.
It was an easy paycheck.

breningrid,

Regardless of what you thought of the movie, comments like the one you just posted prove you really have no idea how movies are actually made.

@coolguy5090,

Comments like the one you posted responding to my post prove you should do some research before speaking out of your ass. All you had to do was read the trivia section.

According to IMDB trivia: "Although the film was written by writer Ben Best and actor Danny McBride, the dialogue is HEAVILY IMPROVISED. Director David Gordon Green said there was NEVER a script used on set. Only the plot outline and written notes were used."

I know exactly how movies/tv shows are made because I've been on set many times for film and tv shoots.

Also, Franco is a known pothead and McBride is known to indulge as well.
I can't speak for Portman though.

breningrid,

Regardless of whether or not the dialogue or big pieces of the script was improvised, the mere existence of big set pieces like the carriage chase, the battle with the serpent, and the final action climax would necessitate a high level of planning and coordination among the cast and crew. You don't improvise stuff like that. And shooting scenes with elaborate production design, effects, and very specific sets requires a lot of work and planning on the part of both the actors and the technicians. Even scenes like the meeting with the Wize Wizard or the bar fight have a lot of elements that need to be controlled and blocked when it comes to filming.

If you don't like the movie, that's completely your right, but to try to belittle the people who made it by making it sound like they were just screwing around, getting high, and not doing anything that resembles actual work is pretty absurd, especially for a movie of this size.

Even movies like this take a lot of work to make. The fact that you think that isn't true makes me think you severely underestimate how movies are made.

Exactly,

Everything is planned out for them by the film crew. Those scenes you describe were thought out by sober minds. Many performers can function under the influence. I stand by my comments. Also, I never said I didn't like the movie and I never said they improvised the action sequences...just the dialogue. Please don't accuse me of saying things I did not say.

They are beautiful and rich A-listers that lead a better life than anyone here could possibly even dream of. Should never feel sorry for them, or anyone like them. They should feel sorry for *us*, the unwashed masses.

James Franco is great because he can laugh at himself and does a wide variety of roles. I mean one minute you see him in Pineapple Express, next minute he's on General Hospital taking a role because he WANTS to, not because he HAS to, then you see him in the movie about the hiker who got stuck and had to cut off his own arm, then you see him in this. I actually think that is a really good thing to show that you can do just about any type of role. You tend to not get type cast that way.

reply

Feeling very sorry for Justin Theroux and Charles Dance also. Wasted in this.

reply

I thought movie was hilarious.

reply

I don't feel one bit sorry for them for being involved with this POS. Terrible film in every way. They knew what they were getting themselves in when they read the stupid script. Movies like this need to be burned and forgotten.

reply

Or, you know, YOU could just avoid seeing them personally, and let other people make the decision of whether or not they want to enjoy them.

What are you, a nazi?

Do you burn books that you don't like too?

reply

You realise he's never going to reply, don't you?

'Cos he burned his PC when he read your comment

reply

No, what is sad is your pathetic comment, you see Franco & portman have this little thing called taste and this other thing called intelligence...they seen the humour and the quality in this film and decided to play their parts. And they played them well, this movie was funny & I feel sorry for you that you don't have the cranial power to enjoy it. peace out.

reply

Don't feel bad for them, because they don't care.
They knew what the reactions would be like. Some people need a little more sense of humour

this coolguy would probably be a lot cooler if he toked a little more. you can pretty much tell theyre stoned in at least a few scenes.
