Plating together

For everyone complaining about Marcel and Spike being jerks, at least they're friends enough to plate together. Maybe stupid, but kind of sweet.

Agreed. Such babies!

Simple camaraderie. Only a bad idea when you didn't think of it first, which I believe the source is of the other chefs' whining. And in the season premiere I wasn't even excited about these guys being on it, but now I prefer them over the other children that are competing.

reply

it doesn't bother me. alton really has become a humorless goon.

He really has. Come a long way, or fallen a long way should I say, from his offbeat, irreverent self of the past.

reply

what's with his look? people at jp morgan wear less plaid.

Sorry, I think Spike and Marcel are *beep* and losers and I wish they'd take their icky bromance and go back to Bravo-TV and Top Chef. Neither one of them could make it in the Iron Chef kitchen; they're idiots. And I think they both should've been eliminated altho I'm glad that Spike was the one who got kicked.

*Amarillo* --Euripides? Eumenides!

reply

That and the fact that they all have sous chefs anyway. Guarnechelli (spelling is off, lol) cooks a LOT of Zakarian's food.

I think Applebaum or whatever is a twat and I wouldn't watch him at all, ever. Or Mehta. Ick.

reply

Yeah, I don't see his appeal. Mehta is kinda interesting but I don't want him to win.

Blargh. Very unappealing group this has become or maybe always was.

reply

at least they're friends enough to plate together.

Just not friends enough to stay or go together.

If you can't walk and talk/text at the same time, do the rest of us a favor and get out of the way.

Yes, I thought it was kind of weak for Marcel to backpedal when one of the judges (Donatella?) said, "So you want to either stay together or leave together?"

with that song playing they needed to have a final montage with those two guys showing them:

-tossing a frisbee to each other
-trimming each other's beard
-picking out bottles of hot sauce
-stirring a big pot of caramel using the same big spoon
-igniting an effigy of alton brown

I think they should have both been sent home.

reply

That would not have upset me in the least.

Eh, FN has paid their lip service to these 2 Top Chef d-bags by letting them stay to about the halfway point. Now it's time to cut them loose. Go, Amanda, Elizabeth and Alex!

reply

I thought it was funny that they did it in that by being side by side it would illustrate clearly if one had better food than the other.

reply

It would've been pretty funny if they sent them both home for that. Vigneron is just going to get $h!t on from here on out.

Gatorade me, bitch.
