'omg, the great chef ____ just went home. this just got real'

i'm tired of hearing them say that every time someone gets eliminated. something like "i can't believe _____ got sent home! this is a gamechanger!" really? i mean really? enough with constantly complimenting each other all the time and acting so surprised when someone gets eliminated in a show where every episode someone gets eliminated

I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

Yeah, but Chef Falkner really WAS the best chef on the show. So this time it's true.

and then there were five.

If she was the best chef she wouldn't have been eliminated.

Justin Verlander, who is arguably the best pitcher in the American League right now, had two horrible starts--in the first game of the World Series and in the All-Star game. Tyler Clippard was the best relief pitcher in the NL in June, getting Deliveryman of the Month, and fell apart in July. Eli Manning, last year's Super Bowl winning quarterback and MVP, threw an interception last night. I've seen some horrible pitching by C.C. Sabathia. Even the best have their off days. And what she did was excellent--Appleman's was just better at this particular time.

Symon still had a great dish, but because of the rules he was chopped. Falkner had screwed up various times with her apparent inability to properly do simple things chefs shouldn't have problems with. She was in the bottom back-to-back and only saved herself with desserts (what a shocker that she'd do well in that departmen). She's competed on the show twice, and yet still isn't an Iron Chef.

I also notice that every showdown consists of the fellow contestants watching and going...

"Oh my god...I can't watch. This is too much. I think I'm going to be sick. Come on guys...hurry up! 4 minutes until plating!"

Followed by Alex putting her hands over her face and looking down at the ground.

Followed by someone saying that the intensity of this round is so palpable.

Dude, if I was one of those people I'd be pointing and laughing at the two who had to cook. I'd probably bring an air horn and blow it while they were cooking to try and distract them. Maybe even bust out some marbles and throw it on the ground to give the showdown duo extra obstacles.

Either way, I would not be nervous watching a showdown. But then again, I am not iron chef material.

I know. It's like when they say, "This is the most important challenge yet!" How is challenge number 6 any more important than challenge number 3? Every one's important if you want to make it to the end.

And I'm sick of hearing that something is "the best bite [or dish] I've had this [challenge/season/decade/whatever]."

Great point about the constant slobbering about "this is the best bite I've had in my whole life!" Though I like Alex, I am also tired of seeing her sweating and panicking and freaking out with every challenge. An Iron Chef must be relaxed and calm and never let us see them sweat!
