Why didn't the judges....

...factor in the whole competition? Amanda Freitag clearly won in my opinion. I guess it pays to have Geoffrey's love. I'm ashamed of myself for watching this dreck.

Because the last challange is the one that most closely resembles the job they are competing for.
Geoffrey clearly liked Amanda's dishes. Alex's dessert was probably the prettiest thing she plated the entire competition. I see why she won, but dang I was routing for Amanda.

Well, half of the judges could not factor in the whole competition because they were not there.

Alex may not be the most creative chef, but they judges always praised the taste of her food. I have to say, though, she really stepped up the creativity in the final episode.

I know...what a waste of time! I figured out pretty quickly that the fix was in for a Food Network insider (and for a woman), but how ridiculous that the winner also happens to be one of the Iron Chef judge's sous chefs. I should have changed the channel as soon as I discovered that Zarkarian would be judging. I like Alex, but she is not an Iron Chef -- far too nervous and stressed and sweaty -- and I won't be watching her. I agree with others here who have said they have succeeded in making the title "Iron Chef" meaningless.
