so the math goes like this each well pumps 300 BBls a day, or 9,000 a month and 108,000 barrels a year. The land owner typically gets 1/8 of that or 13,500 barrels.
which means Peggy or whoever owns the land gets about $1 million a year off that one well. The producer gets about $7 mill and pays the production cost.
watch the show there are numerous wells on that property..... so either peggy is that bored and needs to get some or Thom Beers is scripting the drama.
If you want real drilling then watch the first season, where they followed 3 rigs over a period of time ala deadliest catch making a bit of a competition to it.
I'll go with the fat turd Thom Beers is scripting the drama... that's all he knows.

The dry hole thing is a steaming pile of BS too, there were working pump jacks not that far from the location, the new well would pump from the same spot of oil.

All they are are Soap Operas with emphasis on the drama...fights, arguments, equipment breakdowns and failures, mistakes and errors made by "greenhorns", tantrums, contrived competition and contests, and plots and sub-plots that carry on episode to episode.
They are Soap Operas on a weekly basis rather than daily, because the producers can not create enough Drama to support a daily show on an otherwise boring subject.

Why else would they promote the hotheaded brandon to driller, who's been in jail several times for Drunk and Disorderly.
they abandoned the tame crews from season one who just got to work in favor for these young punks who just bicker and fight.
also the premise that the new locations are "Top Secret" is complete BS
Autry Stephens may be a producer and driller but he's already got the lease on that spot of land, no one else can come drill and produce those locations.
and one more item each lease gets a drilling permit that has to be applied for as in a matter of public record.
