Firefly Ripoff??

What were all the similarities you noticed? I'll start with human cargo, in a crate no less.

it's a little of a lot of science fiction mixed up. Firefly, 5th Element, Starship Troopers

The similarities to The 5th Element were most noticeable to me. In fact there was one line of dialogue
that came straight out of Bruce Willis' mouth in The 5th Element. When the ship's computer is telling Ty
that they are going to crash, he says "I know, you daffy bastard!" I chuckled a little at that one.

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

5. It totally sucked balls.

(Sorry, could not resist trolling. Actually Firefly was great, Serenity was good.)

Very Cute NAKED female human cargo.. I think that's what you meant to say.

Have to say tho, Summer Glau/River made a much better departure from the box.

reply

The actors in Firefly and Serenity could actually act. That's a difference between the two movies.

reply

How about the constant zooming in and out in the space scenes. At least Firefly didn't use it in every shot. Also, a lot of the line felt like they were taken out of Joss Whedon's trash can.

reply

That was annoying BSG copy to me.

reply

Depends on who was in that box. Summer Glau is anything but cute.

Actually that's the first thing I thought seeing the clothings of girl with psychic powers was, gee, isn't that River Tam, boots and all except the skirt's shorter. Then I started noticing that all the stars had similar clothings to the stars (no puns intended) of Serenity/FF.

There was one scene where the human cargo girl (not really watching it, so I can't be more specific) picked up a gun. She was seeing things in her head and then back to reality where every one else was trying to get the gun away from her. This was just like a scene with River in Objects in Space. She thought it was a branch in her hallucination but it was actually a gun when the scene switched back to reality.
