I Think You Love It or Hate It

I certainly didn't love it.Just not my cup of tea. From Birkin's interview on the DVD, some of the actors at least- enjoyed themselves and are very fond of R.
For me, and I do watch a lot of French and foreign films, it reminded me that I am not a Samuel Becket appreciator nor a Rivette fan it seems. I felt like i was watching a stylized avante garde post modern(?) stage play. The only person I cared about was Sergio but his part, like the rest of them, never went anywhere really. The only way I can describe this piece is that , when all was said and done, it felt like an awkward silent movie gone wrong. It just did not interest me.

What it did do for me was impel me to seek out more of Sergio's work.I've always really liked him.
