This movie is so stupid and absolutely unrealistic!
She was making a ton of money without any nudity or sex involved. yeah, right...

Yeah, just got done watching it myself and that is 1.5 hours of my life I will never get back. And really, no nudity and she's making that much money? Gimme a break!

Well, it was a Lifetime TV movie...so there goes the nudity...although the secondary girl character did get topless (away from the camera) just before she got fired (for "health" violations...lol...).

I agree that this wasn't a very good depiction of the strip club atmosphere, but, then again, there aren't many movies that get that dynamic correct in the first place. Getting paid $20-27/hour to dance & getting to keep all of your tips is unheard of in the stripping industry. Also, didn't the main character go to at least a semi-nude strip club after being at the "go-go" (fully clothed) club?? I didn't see anyone getting nude at all at that place.

It's extremely rare for strippers in the USA to be paid by the hour. Most dancers also need to pay a "tip-out" or a bar fee just for the "privilege" of dancing at an establishment, and they make most of their money doing lap dances and/or private dances...and even then they usually don't get to keep a lot of that money.

I guess that's another reason it sucks to live in America.
In Australia Go-Go dancers can expect to make $25-30 an hour an keep all of their tips, though it is common to pool all staff tips and share equally.
Strippers are paid hourly in half of the strip clubs I have knowledge of, and keep 70% of their tips above $100.
If they are not paid hourly, they are allowed to keep all of their tips.

I actually chuckled when I read your topic header, because that's exactly what I was thinking when watching this movie.

Even by Lifetime TV-movie standards, it wasn't very well made. It seemed like there were 5 sets, and they shot all the scenes then needed at each one in a day, then spliced them all together.

Also, I had no idea who these characters were. There was no development, little background, and almost no motivation for anything that occurred. Events would unfold merely for the sake of something to happen. It was like the movie could have been done with cardboard cutouts or still frames, with voice-overs repeating the dialogue.

For shame, Lifetime. Even for you this was a tepid offering.
