graduating college. played by the rules, obedient, perfect boyfriend, perfect grades, etc, on her way to law school, then a job at a prestigious law firm , marriage, children, grandchildren, death. she wants to rebel, & do something crazy for once in her life and now is the perfect time to do it.

What's your point? That pretty much sums up the movie, though... Although, I think it's more than JUST that... there was an attitude that she thinks she knows better than her parents.
shareoh shut up, what makes you think just because she comes from money that she is incapable of experiencing problems in life that a lot of people go through? Rich people have bills to pay too, and money can't buy happiness nor can it make people genuinely happy. Besides, the way I look at it, she just needed an escape in some way...she needed to experience a new kind of life, she wanted to break away from being sheltered, something a lot of people do in some way or another weather they are rich or not.
