Why did West Coast Customs Europe flop?

At the moment the episodes about "West Coast Customs Europe“ in Berlin are being aired in Germany (by TV station DMAX http://www.dmax.de/ )

Big plans and words came from Ryan: "We're going to take over Berlin", "this will be the biggest and best custom shop in Europe" etc.

Setting up the garage and shop started in autumn 2008 in an old building formerly used for repairing of locomotives.

First customers were boxer Wladimir Klitschko with his Smart car, the party bus from "Evil" Jared (Bloodhund Gang) and a American cop car for a fashion show.

In August 2009 "West Coast Customs Europe“ declared insolvency.

What were the reasons?
The general economical crisis overall in the world, no more money for custom cars?
Bad location for the custom garage (somewhere in an abandoned industrial park in former Eastern Berlin?
Bad quality of the custom work?
Did German / European people say "we need no WCC in Berlin, we have our own custom shops here" ?
Did Ryan run out of money for his Europe department due to the financial crisis everywhere?
Has Ryan just lost the fun about the whole project?
What's with the location now?

reply

according to the WCC site they still have an European brand, and toby is now Ryan's "right hand man"

and Alex is now an International Marketing Director
