Ed Can't Pull This Off...

I had been so excited for Ed Westwick to take on this role. So seriously excited.

And then I saw Tom Hardy as Heathcliff. After seeing that performance, I don;t think I can even look at another actor as Heathcliff. He just... he radiated passion.

I don;t know. Ed has his work cut out for him.

I'm not really sure the aim of the film will be to attempt to pull it off. I don't think the novel will be too huge an influene, really

Anyway isn't Ed Weastwick like 12? They should have cast the guy from Twilight...

Robert Pattinson? Really?

I was thinging Richard Armitag. He's make such a good Heathcliff.

reply

Richard Armitage is an inspired choice. He radiates dark, smoldering, and untamed passion. Tom Hardy is my favorite Heathcliff, but Armitage would definitely give him stiff competition.

Ed Westwick is an okay actor, but lacks the depth this role demands.

Some movies are released; others sneak out.

Ed Westwick is 22. Robert pattinson is twenty three. And ew no. Robert Pattinson is the definition of over acting and overrated. He couldn't act his way out of a paper sack.

I was joking about Robert Pattison! As in, why would you cast somebody like that

As the film has cast somebody like that, then I'm not so sure it's going to be aimed at people who have actually read Wuthering Heights

I was looking up The Boat That Rocked as one of the characters was annoying me as I knew who they were but couldn' place them - anyway it was Tess from Tess of the Durbevilles and it said beside her name about the Wuthering Heights film. I was really interested to see who was playing Heathcliff and was rather surprised they had chosen such a young guy to play him. This must be for the audiences as Tom Hardy was totally amazing. I have to agree with OP it would be hard to see anyone else and not compare
