amazing

IN LOVE WITH THIS VERSION. TOM HARDY IS SUPERB (and his thick lips help too, damn)

I watched this long before I had Tom Hardy on my radar and I thought he did a great job with it.
As a matter of fact, this is my all time favorite version- and that's saying something considering I spent three semesters in college reading and dissecting the book over and over and over.

Heathcliff is so hard to nail because of all his complexities. Everyone I talk to has a different version of him in their minds.

Swing away Merrill, swing away.

i just bought the book and started reading it now, I'm very excited, never read it before.

(SPOILER ALERT)

when I saw this version (the hardy version ) of WH I had no idea who any of the actors were (except Andrew Lincoln) it was late at nite and wanted to watch a period piece on youtube and this came up so I took a chance

throughout the film I thought to my self wow the actor who plays Heathcliff is striking and is doing a brilliant job. I also thought the actress who played Catherine was good, but I wasn' blown away by her (except for the part where she is in bed going crazy over Heathcliff after finding out he married another) THEN i realized who the actor who played heathcliff was and the rest is history. I can't imagine another Heathcliff other than him really.

very intense actor.

Previously all the actresses that I'd seen portray Cathy didn't capture her playful rebelliousness.
She was a totally wild child and she and Heathcliff were kindred spirits - life threw them a series of curveballs and they both reacted in the worst possible way imaginable.

If Cathy's father had never passed and they'd been left to live their lives who knows how each would've turned out differently.

Hi. Previously watched this on PBS America and I am currently re watching it on ITV Encore. They appear to have shortened sequences and changed bits or is it just me? For example, opening scene of PBS has Heathcliff hearing Cathy's voice and awakening. ITV has him awaken to an arm coming through the window. Prefer the PBS version to be honest.
