Basic writing rule

If a gun appears in act one it must go off in act three.

What was with the emphasis on how the musket still works etc.? I assumed at some point the protagonist would get that musket and use it, but instead we had that whole long conversation to introduce it, and it's forgotten entirely after that point.


"I'll book you. I'll book you on something. I'll find something in the book to book you on."
