Similar movies ?

I was wondering if people could recommend similar movies like 5 Minutes of Heaven ?
I'm very interested in The Troubles and everything related to it, but I can only seem to find movies that depict the story from the Republican side (In the name of the father, for example). There seem to be hardly any movies showing the other side of the story, which I find curious.

Hey there, i think you would like 'Hunger'
It's a little more raw and even disturbing, but what a great performance by Michael Fassbender. And that talking scene, 15min long with the same camera, brilliant.

Here's the link.

Perhaps still Republican side, but I recommend Bloody Sunday, Some Mother's Son, Wind that Shakes The Barley, Michael Collins, The Boxer (somewhat). I know there are more, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Catch you back if I rmember.

I like to watch.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley is a poorly developed story that is sensationalist, then straight up communist propaganda that after awhile leaves all historical accuracy in the dust. Cillian Murphy's a pretty good actor though. Def Republican though.

It sounds like a story of revenge. Time doesn't heal all wounds. While watching the trailer, I was reminded of In the Name of the Father, but that's to clear a family's name, having been wrongfully convicted.

You would like another character driven, psychological, intense film called Secret Sunshine where a murder victim's mother meet the murderer.

i just saw (bits off) an episode of CSI:NY where a deathrow convict meets his victim's brother just as he walks to his execution.

does that count ?

it has an aging fat Edward (John "target of Terminator" Connor) Furlong though, if that helps sell that particular show...

Lauren Prosnan : Hollywood is God's way of saying America matters.

Yes, I strongly recommend a film from 1984 called "Cal." It stars Helen Mirren. I've only seen it once, back when it was released, but I recall really liking it a lot, as did those I saw it with. It involves a Catholic, a Protestant and a shooting, and I'll say no more, except that it might be difficult to find.
