Money problems

The financial crisis really did this film in. I wonder if it will ever be released.

Yes, it will definitely be released. It should be going into post very soon. Look for it in the next few months.

So why are the official and myspace wesbsites shuttered?

reply

Well, it only took about a million years, but SBD is finally being released. It will premiere on Superchannel on 11/11/11.

One of the worst films I've ever seen.

How in the world did the producers get Jason Mewes and William Sadler for this film is beyond comprehension.

I like Jason Mewes, but why does he keep taking roles in *beep* films, one after another? Ok, I get it: it pays the bills. But why be an actor who already "has made it" in Hollywood, who lives there, why repeatedly appear in all these schlocky BAD films?

...With the bippin' and the boppin' and the hippin' and the hoppin'...

They likely got William Sadler for the film because he's probably finding out that, as he gets older, he has fewer film opportunities...and this was likely 1 day of work for a decent enough pay check.

As for Jason Mewes...I think his story was a little sadder. Everyone enjoyed him as the stoner hippy Jay from his collaborations with Kevin Smith (and from RSVP...where his character "Terry" was pretty much "Jay")...but it seems that as quirky as the drug use on camera was...it was a major demon off camera.

And of course it didn't help that he had tragedies to face...like his Mother dying of AIDS in 2002.

If I was going to venture to guess why he's taking the roles, I suspect it's because he probably understands that as he starts looking older, the roles are going to dry up...and the money he's making from the roles he's playing now...they just don't pay all that well.

He apparently got married in 2009, so hopefully he's been able to put together some money and plan for a life off camera...either in another element of film making, or in some other field entirely.

But yeah, this film...wasn't good at all!

And it should also be said...Jason Mewes wasn't good in it either! He wasn't the worst thing in the film, but he also wasn't the best thing in it either.

He didn't need to be good or bad because the director would have taking a dump on his performance regardless.

The guy played a killer with very little to no emotion.... any actor could pretty much accomplish that. The role was just far beneath him. I've seen him in other roles back in the day....and he stands out as a decent actor when he wants to. This was just sad.

Ok, I'm really sick of hearing about this global financial crisis crap. Every TV show they have to say in these times, or times are hard blah blah blah. America isn't global! There was a crisis in America. There wasn't a crisis in Australia, Europe, Asia or the Middle East...There wasn't a crisis in Mexico or Canada. America simply continues to go down the drain and really nobody outside cares. War mongering isn't globally fashionable and it's the only card America ever plays. </rant>

Where are you from? Canada is in a recession, right now!

reply

Not sure if you're being serious but I don't think the financial crisis did this show in, I think it's just that it is a very bad movie.

reply

It's truly terrible. The camera man and the little person were incredibly annoying.
