I know Donald Glover only from this film and "Community". Despite a few differences his two characters are much alike. Both are young adults behaving like little children with little to no understanding of the real world. Enclosed in a fantasy world of their own making, trying hard not to grow up.
My question is: does other work of this group depends on similar humor or is it just those two characters?
It's pretty much Glover's comedy style..most of the Derrick stuff was similar and if you watch the early Community shows he was just a "dumb jock" but as time progressed the writers integrated his own personality in the character (the same was done with all the actors on that show)..

I actually think he's more akin to a young Gus from Psych. He even develops an interest in medical technologies, and Gus was a pharmaceutical rep.
