The Damned

That scene with Dave and the Capt was amazing. I saw The Damned in '85 or '86 in NYC and was completely bummed that Capt had left the band at that point. They look so great in that video it's almost like 25 years haven't passed. Lem rips that bass and Capt starts in. Outstanding!

I was a bit gutted to see that Lemmy joined them onstage...I saw Motorhead and the Damned together in Glasgow recently and was hoping that would happen for old times sake, Ballroom Blitz i'd assume, but it wasn't to be!
Always good to see The Damned...

You've got red on you..

I hadn't heard, but it would be great to get the story of an iconic band from that era for sure. Looking forward to it.

In 1979 Motorhead & Damned recorded together as a single band. These recordings never saw the light as they were stashed in Chiswick Records archives for years! In 2008 however, a seven-inch EP was released by the british label Devils Jukebox Brighton. Licensed by Chiswick Records, titled "Over The Top" and with Motordamn as band-name, this EP had two tracks of those 1979 recordings: "Over The Top" and "Ballroom Blitz". I don't know if more tracks of these recordings exist, forgotten in some archive, but nevertheless this EP is precious little gem to say the least!

It's pretty cool that Motorhead, and Lemmy specifically, are revered by punks and metalheads alike. Very few bands or musicians can lay claim to that. Lemmy doesn't even need to pick a side, because he's Lemmy, and as Ozzy said in the movie, "you either take him or you don't, and he don't give a flying s*** if you do or not."
