US-Verleih Phase 4 erwirbt Filmpaket von Uwe Boll

Der amerikanische Verleih Phase 4 Films hat ein Spielfilmpaket mit drei Filmen von Uwe Boll erworben. Dazu gehört das Sudan-Drama „Darfur“ mit Billy Zane, Edward Furlong und Kristanna Loken, die darin als westliche Journalisten Augenzeugen der Massaker werden. „Dafur“, den Phase 4 in diesem Sommer in die amerikanischen Kinos bringen will, wird mit einer Kampagne von Amnesty International begleitet.

Ebenfalls im Filmpaket befindet sich der Horrorthriller „The Final Storm“ mit Lauren Holly und Luke Perry, in dem eine Reihe von Wetterkatastrophen den Weltuntergang ankündigen.

Als dritten Titel hat Phase 4 das Drama „Rampage“ gekauft, in dem Brendan Fletcher einen jungen Amokläufer spielt, der seine ganze Heimatstadt auslöschen will.

When I first heard what "Rampage" is about, I thought with sadness that Boll had just undone everything that he'd accomplished with "Darfur". Seems to glorify people who kill wantonly rather than defend those who are killed.

"Darfur" was a good film, with a powerful message. "Rampage" sounds like "Natural Born Killers" without the message or the depth.

Am I right or wrong in this assumption?

Well I haven´t seen the movie yet, but it is a hole different genre as Darfur is. Rampage told the story of someone who flipped out, but he survive his own killing spree. Boll told in a radiointerview that this a metaphor or a analogy of the happening of the Bank scene. The bankers steal millions and billions and destroying the living of so many people. But they all came through with it.

So the message is: there is crime outside in our cities and the offender have no problems with the law at the end.

I hope you understand my confusing English. ;)
