RAMPAGE, STOIC and DARFUR

hey, i actually saw RAMPAGE, STOIC and DARFUR and everybody around me
who saw this movie also ranked all three movies between "fantastic"
and "masterpiece". In the screening i went a big agent from ICM said
about DARFUR that this was the best movie of the year he saw. so all
the IMDB 9 and 10 rates for that movies are actually from the people
they saw that movies and all 1 points are from this guys who try to
damage BOLL and bring him out of business because its trendy. Boll
fights a lonely fight and he improved massivly - this 2 movies
together with TUNNELRATS are not average - they are actually better as
almost all other movies of the last 10 years. and if ou would actually
watched them - you would agree.

I was there too and Mr. Boll doing a great job with Stoic and Darfur. I just saw Stoic in France at the International Horror Movie Event, the people there gave him an award!

reply

I saw Stoic in Mainz-Germany together with 200 other people at the world premiere. Great movie, going very deep!

reply

Really great movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I think by every film Boll has done, he's been getting better. So I can say that Darfur is one of his best movies! He improved his skills through the years and became a great producer. No matter what the haters say...

reply

*Where* is it possible to see "Darfur"?

reply

There are serveral screening through the whole world. I think next screening is present by Amnestie International USA, which will show Darfur.

reply

Hmmm.

I am curious to see Rampage, Stoic & Darfur are great. Was a great evening, very impressing screening. Good work Uwe !

reply

I won't rank any movie that I have not seen, but considering what Mr Boll has provided to us in the past, I won't bother to see any of his movies now.

If Darfur is a good movie, let's find any (meaning at least one) favorable review from a critic who must provide an objective comment on a movie.

If, as I suspect, no favorable reviews occur, then your opinion, and the other Boll-lovers will simply stay in the minority.

Now, Let's look for reviews, shall we?

reply

yep or just ask people who saw the movie. there was a screening in Vancouver too, it was sold out.

reply

I'm a Boll-lover but i'm not dumb, i admit Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark were horrible, the other game adaptations were just entertaining but nothing more.
Also Boll did nothing worst than Anderson's Resident Evil or AvP, and AvP is clearly the biggest rape of our childhood, and that's Anderson who should have a petition against him, Boll raped nothing. House of the Dead was a cult classic arcade game for me but i didn't feel offened by it.
Postal, Tunnel Rats, Rampage, Stoic and Darfur are really good movies, so Boll seems to be better when he does nothing about video games (except for Postal, but i admit that the humor of the movie may not make everybody laugh).
He's also very kind (when you know him) and all that bashing against a cool guy is not very fair. I don't like Anderson or Bay but i never had the idea to make petitions against them, having this kind of idea reflects the mind of antisocial buddies...

reply

"rape of our childhood"?
Yep, you're totally not anti-social...

haha, compare this initial post (writing style, grammar, capitalization, ...) to Uwe Boll's open letter!! Here's an excerpt

[...]
tons of journalist worldwide using
that absurd low judgments against me for bashing me more in articles
etc. ! the fact is that especially my movies POSTAL, STOIC, RAMPAGE and
now DARFUR are GREAT movies and everybody who saw them agree's to that.
but the world has its opinion about the new ED WOOD .....the most
HORRIBLE DIRECTOR ever etc. ! and this opinion is wrong. the movies
speak for themself - but the journalists around the world ignore the
quality of my movies and keep bashing me.
in regards of DARFUR -- a movie we did to get action in sudan going to stop
the genocide - its very bitter - but because this articels and votes
make it harder to get the movie shown and to sell the movie. so less
people will see that movie because of IMDB.com unfair voting system.
[...]

nice idea to write an anonymous review to push your own movie, Uwe!

reply

I'm not Uwe Boll, and I think Rampage, Stoic and Tunnel Rats are great films, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Looking forward to Darfur and Storm too.

reply

I´m not Uwe. So stop trollin´ and leave the internet.

reply

But you're writer-producer Chris Roland, aren't you? If so, every professional and decent industry bloke would write that upfront or have it in their sig so as to avoid conflicts of interest and coming across a lowly shill. Or how about actually using your real name as a nick since you obviously come here explicitly to plug your products?

Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to (P. Green)

reply

I just took the statement from an internet page to show some more infos about Darfur. I will post even more soon. This movie is important! The *beep* happens right now in darfur! And I am not Chris of course.

Thanks for clearing that up.

And listen, I'm sorry for the rude tone, especially in the thread Let's expose those Boll shills on here!.

It's just, if you're really serious about these things and don't want to be a pain in the ass and harassing people, you don't go about 'em the way you guys did:

– The opening statement ("hey, i actually saw [...]") is a first-person account. Naturally and logically, one assumes JamieMiethke wrote that himself, that it represents his experiences, yet you and two other people write the same thing elsewhere on IMDb. So, who ORIGINALLY wrote that? Why isn't it sourced properly, why don't you / they attribute it to its author?

– And quoting and naming an author (Chris R., Marlie W.), as you did elsewhere, without making it clear that you are quoting and that the author named isn't you, EllaRardottir, yourself is equally against established conventions (sure, you can do anything you want, but then don't complain if people hold it against you). Just mark it properly, or even write a short introduction, like "hey, guys, here's something from one of the movie's writers that I thought I'd share with you".

– Even if you corrected all that, it's still problematic to flood several threads with the same statements, especially when it's sometimes clearly off-topic. Why not just start your own thread?

I personally think it's a terrible idea for Boll to make a film about the crisis in Darfur, but it's certainly his right, and if he finds people that like the end product, good for him.

Regards
TD

"I personally think it's a terrible idea for Boll to make a film about the crisis in Darfur"
--> This is your opinion. Have you seen the movie yet?

"And quoting and naming an author (Chris R., Marlie W.), as you did elsewhere..."
--> Well, I think it is clear enough that this are not my own words when I signed the articles with the name of the person who wrote it.

"And listen, I'm sorry for the rude tone ..."
--> No problem with that.

He has found the perfect way of weeding out the naysayers (who are nothing more than parrots) and getting the real cinema fans behind him in a big way by putting out a handful of great movies in a short period.

And the ignorant will, unfortunately, still be the majority.

Only the ignorant will continue talking trash.
Not to mention anyone with the least bit of taste, and anyone who understands that there's a difference between a film being about an important subject and a film actually being good, and anyone who isn't a shill for Boll, and anyone who's over the age of 30, and so on.

But yeah, other than all those other people, only ignorant people will continue talking trash about Uwe Boll.

It's hilarious watching the Boll partisans desperately trying to defend their ridiculously bad taste by claiming that they're somehow part of the vanguard of modern film art ("boy, all you Boll haters sure will look foolish when these films are recognized as masterpieces 100 years from now.") No, you're not clear thinkers who can are able to see what everyone else can't - rather, you're just deluded fanbois who don't yet know enough about film to tell the difference between bad filmmaking and works that are genuinely daring or avant-garde.

You're celebrating and defending scheiss.

(Of course, you'll take this truth to be hard now - you'll bleat and pule about how you're so misunderstood and how everyone who doesn't agree with you is just so gosh-darned ignorant - but someday you'll look back and realize how foolish you were to defend the indefensible.)

I suppose on a clear day you can see the class struggle from here
