gisbelle, yoanna, and dr. michelle

does anyone else think gisbelles voice/accent thing is ANNOYING AS HELL?!
i have to mute the tv every time she talks.

and when yoanna and dr. michelle are calling the girls on the phone, doesn't it sound recorded? they sound so dead.

reply

it's a spanish accent. if anything would be annoying , it's her voice and not the accent itself but i don't find either one annoying.

reply

I agree, she raised from the Bronx.
And a lot of Spanish-speaking people from there has an accent.
Her accent is kinda cool.

Life is good I can't complain, I mean I could but no one's listening. =/

reply

I hate her accent. I don't understand why she has one? I thought she was born here?

reply

her accent is awesome, i always wished i could be able to talk like that.

lol, I like her accent. Although sometimes I can't understand what she just said, but I still like her accent, i've been wondering what kind it was and I guess I just found out.

Are you for real? Even if people are born in the U.S. they can still get accents due to wherever they're living at. If you live in Virginia you'll probably have a southern accent, if you live in Mexico you'll have a spanish accent, if you live in Boston you'll have..their accents lol. So she's hispanic and from New York so you should KNOW she'll have some kind of accent.

I don't live too far out of the way from the Bronx (I live in Manhattan) and a lot of people talk that way here. So I guess I'm immune to it because I'm used to it. And yes, Yoanna's voice does sound pre-recorded. Even at times when she is in the room talking to the girls, and they are showing the girls' reactions, it sounds like a voice-over, even though she is standing right there!

Yoanna's voice is definitely pre-recorded in some of those scenes. Also when they talk to her on the phone, its so definitely a pre-recorded message every time.

I know it may just be your personal opinion, but why would you say something like that? That's just the way she talks. Most likely, her family and friends talked like that as she was growing up and therefore she talks the same way.

I never understood why people hate on others for their "accent." Accents are relative and subjective anyway. An accent is just a "different" pronunciation of a language. If you walked into a Spanish-speaking nation, they would think you had an accent too.

Not only that ElevenSeventeen, everyone from each part of the nation has an accent. I'm from the midwest and when I visit different parts of the country people say that I have an accent (even though I don't think that I do.) Everyone has an accent that is specific to thier region of the country. I love different accents though!!! My favorite would have to be east coast accents! I love Boston, and New York accents!!! I love the way that they speak!

To answer your question about their voices on the phone, there are several voice-overs. They are probably really talking to the girls on the phone, but when the show airs, it's a voice-over that matches with the girls' expressions. Also, if you pay attention to when the camera is pointed to one of the girls during the progress report, that's also a voice-over. They just show the girls nodding their heads at random times. They do the same thing on America's Next Top Model.

You are, of course, welcome to your opinions, and you handled it in a reasonable way by muting Gisbelle.

But if you judge her on her accent--or even her voice--you are behaving like these contestants at the start of the show.
