I'm a nanny for a 2 year old boy and he mostly watches PBS. He likes Sid the Science Kid and I can barely resist poking my eyes out whenever it comes on. Gerald is, by far, the most annoying character I've ever seen. I actually like May the best out of everyone. The boy's mom thinks it's a really cute show and likes it a lot and I just can't feel the same way. I much prefer Dinosaur Train, Sesame Street, and Super Why, my charge also like all of those shows. Thomas the Tank Engine is his favorite and it annoys me a bit, but not nearly as much as Sid. I've been baby-sitting/nannying for 18 years now so I've seen my fair share of preschool shows, I do like the concept of Sid, just not the execution of it.

I loathe this show. I love all the ones you mentioned as well. Luckily my son is young enough to not notice that I turn it off right before Sid. Gerald doesn't bother me nearly as much as the grandma!!! Her laugh makes me shudder. That's probably why I don't like May either since they're the same voice actress.

I'm 27 and love a LOT of kid's shows, but in this one, I find the animation quite ugly and creepy. The hair that looks just like a Bergamasco Shepherd's coat amuses me, however...and the grandma is charmingly funny.

I've turned this show on for my son a couple times, and can't stand Sid. I've never made it long enough to see any other characters besides his dad. His voice is incredibly annoying, and he sounds like he's bragging all the time. I don't understand how this show even made it on to TV.
