Anyone know what the kidney bean dish they eat is called?
When Chico and Rita are eating kidney beans, what exactly are they eating?
I can't imagine how kidney beans on their own can be that delicious.

Olive oil, onion, peppers, garlic, mincemeat, tomato paste, kidney beans, and rice. If you add chillis, you more or less have chilli con carni. Enjoy.
shareIf the beans are black and they are even with the rice is usually called "moros y cristianos". It is a tipical cuab dish, check this link for more detail (spanish version is more complete tho): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platillo_Moros_y_Cristianos
Life is not an illusion, you are too dumb to imagine all this crap.
Moros con cristianos; rice and beans, but without the rice :)

Kidney bean soup
Where's your crew?
On the 3rd planet.
There IS no 3rd planet!
Don't you think I know that?
Probably red beans (Frijoles Colorados) made with ham or chorizo and calabasa (a kind of pumpkin or winter squash) and lots of spices. It's really great when it's made right. Kidney beans out of a can are not even in the same universe.
My Cuban wife and mother-in-law have great recipes. It's not that common; sort of a special-occasion dish because it's a bit complex to make. But when I was in Cuba in March of 2013, I saw it on a menu in Havana offered as a "side dish". It was pretty good (but not as good as my wife's).
