Bothered by the narration

I'm nitpicking but it keeps bothering me a little as I watch this doc. Where is it coming from. Did everyone in the footage write a journal after or something? Some the VO is real mixed in with Stanley Tucci's awkward sounding questioning.

It's late and yes, I'm nitpicking but has anyone else noticed that?

The narration was necessary because the soundtrack could not be sync'd to the film. So, they used some narration to try to pull it together. They found this film in a barn or something. Read the history of how they put it together. You will understand that they even used lip readers to try to sync the sound to the film. Don't place this film in competition with professional documentaries. This is a home movie with a few good professional angle shots in it and the sound could not be sync'd. It has a place in history.

I agree -- I didn't like mixing Stanley Tucci's questions with the old sound.

I also wasn't thrilled with some of the readings of the transcripts, especially the actress doing Jane Burton's lines -- it sounded too much like she was reading. The others were more conversational.

I also think the filmmakers should have told us which were the actual recordings and which were actors reading transcripts.
