Yup. Apart from pseudointellectual campus revolutionaries, nobody's given a *beep* about Kesey or his Merry Band of Pissant Burnouts since 1969.

People who desperately need to glorify and fetishize the Hippie cults of the 60's will fawn over it, everyone else will ignore it completely.

They had a huge impact on modern culture and will forever be intertwined with this country's history. Whether you can comprehend or appreciate that fact doesn't change it.

Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

I enjoyed this movie as I knew little about these "Pranksters" other than the hippie wanna-bees I knew talked about them as if they were gods. I now know they were little more than bums, full grown adults who went around acting like children. This is why Mad Men has such a following, knowing that there was a whole other side to the 60s of adult people doing adult things. LSD is potentially very dangerous, and the flippant way they got knocked out of their heads with unknown dosages in a dangerous situation of being stranded in the Arizona desert is definitely NOT how anyone who chooses to use it should. Only weirdos are into this Nasty drug these days, it got some college dropout kid killed in my neighborhood when he wandered into someone else's apartment out of his mind on psychedelics.
