It was released, at list here in Brasil, some months ago. It's about a real history of man who pretended to be the son of a milionaire.
shareIntriguing. It seems the story of a man affected by mythomania, or bipolar disorder, or Munchausen Syndrome, or some pervasive characterial disorder. These psychiatric conditions share mood expansion (maniacal), hyperactivity, self-sense of power and volatile identity, extreme egocentrism... In a psychological state as those a man can feel himself able to stand and search for ANY situation, real or from his fantasy (typical in my experience the desire to fly with or without autorization). There are a lot of clyincal cases with some 'patient' that put himself for a moment in ceremonies or mede believe he/she was someone else... Until they find out. Typical. Interesting plot, I'd like too to see this movie. Let's give a look 'out there'.
shareThe script fantasizes a little bit the story, but most of the events really happened, there is a documentary and a book written by Mariana Caltabiano which explains it all. Like any so-called "biography" the writers have changed some names, events and added the mythomania and Munchausen Syndrome. The real life Marcelo was a con artist at the top, he had not even for a second thought to be someone else.
I find it funny that people criticize some of the events as "unlikely" when in reality he perpetrated everything that is depicted in the movie. And more...
The last part in Recife is nearly 100% reproduced except for the end that is highly fictionalized.
Besides...
The real life Marcelo has around 5 brothers and he knew his father, it is just that he passed away when Marcelo was too young.
