So Ferguson sends Maynard to kill the girl. He fails. Then Ferguson sends his own men to kill the girl. They fail. Then Ferguson sends Dixon to kill the girl. He fails. And then...? Are we to believe that he suddenly gave up? That doesn't match his person at all...

Who's he going to send? His own guy, Maynard, is out of action. Victor is the best in the business. Dixon was the No. 2 and he failed. Maybe the word gets out in the hitman community and nobody will take the job.
shareUnlikely. Ferguson would probably be worried that Victor may come after him, so there’s little chance that he would just let Victor go (even if he abandons Rose and the money). Victor may still be the best, but he is continuously aging, and there’s nothing stopping Ferguson from sending several hitmen after Victor to ensure that Victor is taken out.
