I loved this movie.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

Good. I really enjoyed it too. Let's rent it and have a night in.

This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages, and Bill Nighy has achieved a new level of comic godhood in my estimation. In fact, it's an all round great cast, and they were all wonderful.

I've skimmed through the thread titles as I generally do before settling down to reading/posting, and I'm shocked by how many people seem to dislike this film. I simply can't imagine what there is not to fall in love with. I guess those people have a sense of humor I can't understand, and vice versa.

I have been wanting to see the movie for a while now. I just like seeing movies with people from Harry Potter in them (lol) and this had Rupert Grint and Bill Nighy so I gave it a shot. I was skeptical cause I heard it got negative reviews, plus I've never really watched a British comedy before, but I did like the movie. It was better than I expected. It wasn't really laugh-out-loud funny, but I don't think that's what the filmmakers were aiming for. I thought the three leads did a good job (I never knew Emily Blunt was so attractive). I enjoyed the movie :)

I gave it 9/10. Great screenplay, and Bill Nighy, with his knack for deadpan humor, was perfectly cast.

Hahah i do the same; watch films that include the 'noticeable' cast from harry potter, it's fun to see what kind of films they branch off into, in my opinion, Daniel Radcliffe has got the most varied CV.

This film was great, but after seeing it for a second time i felt like it was lacking something, although it had a brilliant cast, it felt too condensed i guess. I dunno, maybe i've seen too many movies not to enjoy a film with a simplistic plot now.

Would definitely love to see another film with the 3 main characters again though

Loved it too! What a surprise. I was laughing out loud through out.

I'm glad to see others enjoyed it so much after coming here and seeing the "Awful" thread at the top. I thought this was a really funny film. I think this might be the only film I have seen Rupert in where he plays a muggle.

Its a nice movie indeed

I liked the first half of the film up until they go to Maynard's house then it loses it's way a bit. I think 6.7 score on IMDB is just about right for the film.

I still recommend the film, all the performances are a lot of fun. Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy definitely elevate the material and even though they have a bit of a age gap (Blunt was 27 at the time and Nighy was 60. In French Original, it's the same thing with the age gap romance) I wasn't distracted by the romance between their characters. They have great chemistry. Rupert Grint, who's really proven to be the strongish actor out of three Harry Potter young leads, is a lot of fun as Tony the new helper to Nighy's hitman. Martin Freeman and Rupert Everett are fun as the villains.

This was done before Blunt really cemented herself as a leading lady in Hollywood, she was still on her way up. The film didn't do great box office business and it's shame as the film has a nice charm to it and it's nice to see Blunt playing up her charm and charisma. I remember seen this on Film Four at like 3 in the morning and I liked it wasn't in love with it. But it's a film from Blunt's canon of work that deserves at least a watch. It's also the last film directed by Jonathan Lynn who did My Cousin Vinny, Clue and Nuns on the Run.

It's a solid 3/5 film.
