Did anyone else notice the Asperger's (or ASD) direction in this movie?

For those not familiar with the term ASD it stands for Autist Spectrum Disorder (although the last word may have already changed to something else by the time you're reading this comment).

The characters in this movie seem to have a common thought process. To me it seems that at least a couple of the characters and their dialogue come from an ASD/Asperger's line of thinking.

For one of the clearest examples, look at the scene where the hairdryer is being bought. The level of detail in describing the hair dryer's history & operation...you can tell it's not acting, it's more an ASD-level of information giving.

From a personal standpoint, I'm on the ASD spectrum and while I'm also frustrated by the dialogue & mannerisms of the characters, I can also mildly relate to some of it or know why they do certain quirky things or behave the way that they do. For my own viewing experience, thinking of ASD as the core/key of the writing & dialogue helps everything fall into place and make much more sense.

But I can see that for those who don't think that way or can't relate to ASD thinking that they would be very much turned off by the film...or perhaps quite the opposite during certain scenes. (Grin)

At the time of writing this comment, I'm most of the way through the movie but have the movie paused in the background while I looked on here if anyone had spotted an ASD-connection as well.

Back to finish the movie and see if it describes more in detail and how it concludes at the end.
