Hugo Weaving has never owned a driver's license

Hugo Weaving has never owned a driver's license because of his epilepsy. He must have been driving illegally.

Interesting. Do we know for a fact he still couldn't legally drive at this stage? Plenty of people with a history of seizures control them well and are eligible to drive. Could probably learn for the sake of a film part, maybe...

Not that I know of. I'm only going on the following that is mentioned on his IMDb biography page:

He has suffered from epileptic seizures since he was 13. Because of this, he made the decision early on not to drive and he has never had a driver's license. In a 2006 interview, Weaving noted he hasn't suffered a seizure in years, but is still reluctant to get a driver's license because "I'm so used to not driving, I'm scared of what I'd do".

It is interesting though. I imagine any sort of indemnity clause in a contract will be invalid because of the illegal nature. I wonder if anybody with first-hand knowledge of Hugo Weaving's driving in this film or otherwise will be kind enough to post a reply.
