I thought this movie is not a regular drama . I think , it's subjective movie about ride of humanbings. it's very similar to "the return" with some elements . like , salt-lake , desert, riding , afghan magical history ! , camels , swimming , ... . what are you think ?
Yep, they are both in their own sub-genre althought different stories.
shareYes, only I would say that The Return was a lot more focused on the children, whereas Last Ride was a lot more focused on the father. All in all though, I do agree. A much, much different film - nonetheless a phenomenal one - that Last Ride reminded me of at times, was Michael (2011), a film about a paedophile (in the same vein as Haneke, I would say). Check it out... totally underrated!
shareAgreed, although I never thought of 'The Return' during most of this film, not until the scene where he drove off without him. That was very similar. Good films both.
