can I watch only some episodes or I won't understand?
Is this like any other cop show where you don't really need to watch the whole show from the beginning to understand or enjoy a episode?

shareThere are certain themes that run throughout the series but I think you could enjoy episodes on their own.
I find it an enjoyable series , particularly Tim Roth's performances
You would enjoy individual episodes but you would enjoy them MORE if you understood the back-story of some of the characters.
shareYou could but you should really watch all of them since they're great from the first episode.
shareYou don't need to watch the show in order or sequence. I would recommend it just because the character building is good. But plot-wise, each episode can stand on its own. There's never a, "Previously on Lie to Me," at the beginning of any episode since its not even necessary.

quite true.
i watched the first episode from a teaser dvd they were handing out for free at best buy. then season 3 came out on netflix before seasons 1 & 2, so i watched those episodes. eventually netflix put the first two seasons on and i got to those. the order didn't really matter much as far as i could tell.
that's also why i have a hard time with the "when did it go downhill" question, because apparently i started watching the series at the bottom of the hill.
