It was decent at best. IMO, I cannot really compare SIlent Hill 0 to Silent Hill 2 or any other Silent Hill game. I do like how the battle system was somewhat improved, but even then it doesn't live up to the greatness of Silent Hill 2.

It is a good game, but just not the best after Silent Hill 2. My opinion though.

Sorry for my English.

I think it was okay! But it was not scary at all, the previous ones were more scarier.

then you dindt play it in the dark with headphones...

Seconded. I've played SH:O twice now, and the first time, I played it in a pitch-black room with headphones on and I kid you not: it scared the $hit out of me - especially the sanitarium level and the theater level. I thought Climax did a pretty good job and I hope there's another Silent Hill game put out on PSP, as well as:
1)Hitman - they could use a control scheme similar to the PSP version of Splinter cell
2)Resident Evil - how is it that the Nintendo DS can have portable Resident Evils but Sony doesn't?
3)Max Payne

The sanitarium level was creepy but the hotel was the scariest and most interesting to me. I LOVED the theater level too but I thought it was too short.

I really liked this game. Well actually for me it only really started to pick up after I beat the place where you fought Travis's mom, but the last half of the game was fantastic. I did think the Butcher was a pathetic rip-off of Pyramid Head though, I mean he was hardly even explained. No way does this compare to Silent Hill 2, but I do think it was a lot better than Silent Hill 4.

There was a signature here. It's gone now.

Hmm so is this better than silent hill 3?

Hi, my 2nd post ever on imdb.

about a week ago i finnesed this game, and i loved it.

SH3 was awesome and i played it through many many times, but for me it didnt seem to have the atmosphere of SH2. SH0 really brought me back to the good old times of SH2 as the atmosphere and graphics (altho no way near as good as SH2) are very similar.
For me SH3 was a little bit clean, and lost slightly what i really enjoyed about SH2. It felt a little bit enclosed and linear, where SH2 (as i seem to remember)was a much longer play. e.g in the prison i seem to remember dropping down 4 or 5 layers down bottomless pits in order to continue. Also in SH2 searching the apartment buildings was very exciting and made me scared to open up the next room incase it was unlocked, and the ..... was it lakeside hotel? was just incredible.

Back to SH0, as i said this really brought back great memories for me connected with SH2. The way to travel to 'evil' version on Silent hill was to walk through mirrors, this was cool, but seemd to make it less scary as in 2 you have no idea why or when you are about to jump into the 'evil' version.

The combat is better but still can be a pain, but as we know SH is not about comat right? its about beautiful settings and atmosphere, and working out the story as you go along. Dont get me wrong this story is no SH2 but it feels good to come back and have a new adventure and get back into the good old streets of SH once again.

I could go on about this game all day but i will finnish with this. Proper Sh fans should really enjoy this, and at only £23 in england, i snapped this up the second i saw it had been ported to PS2.

p.s..... this is a psp port, BUT the resident evil 4 gameplay healthbars and over the sholder style has been totally scrapped for the PS2 version and is back to normal just like 1, 2 and 3, with a touch of 4 ;)

for me its a 10 out of 10 just for the old times :)

100% agree with the above poster, and yea the game is like going back to the old roots, and thats the reason I love it.

I would put the game between SH3 and SH4 in terms of quality personally. Closer to SH3 (I thought SH3 was good, but nothing special) than SH4 though.

My order of greatness as it were being is: SH2, SH1, SH3, SH:O and SH4.

I thought it was alright. I really liked the story, and I felt bad for Travis, but like any other game, it could have used some improvements.

I thought it was decent. Nothing more, nothing less. Worth playing once for fans of the franchise.

They did good with the gameplay and atmosphere (although combat is still problematic, and some of the scares are phoned in), but the storytelling and writing was all over the place. As a standard survival-horror game, it's alright, and there's some fun to be had. But as a Silent Hill game, it does fall a bit flat.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
