Sequel still possible

Apparently Sony isn't ready to give up on the franchise and a sequel could still happen, although not anytime soon.

I genuinely hope it does get made, with Joel Kinnaman back in the lead. A few changes though;

- Drop the 12A rating and make it a 15 (15 ratings today are the 18's of the 80's)
- Make the villains ruthless and far more prominent
- More powerful weapons this time round
- Make some parts of the city bleak and barren

I thoroughly enjoyed the remake, but felt it was 'missing' some oomf, still good though. But the sequel could be far, far better!

I want a sequel, too! I love the remake better than the original.

Me too!

You are a vagina.

Why?

You are a peen then.

Also, I am male!

Real men don't like the new RoboCop. It's the "vagina" version of RoboCop.

I like vaginas. I want to put my peen in one of them to keep it warm.

Sony should give up on the franchise because they made one of the worst remakes of all time.

reply

I disagree with you. This is one remake that I enjoy.

reply

I don't give a *beep* No one else liked it either for the movie to deserve a sequel. The majority of the people have spoken.

The RoboCop remake is the definition of a remake failing at everything the original movie made great.

Incorrect. Lots of people liked it. I'm one of those people. This was extremely well done. The campy satire and everything was pretty on point.

That rug really tied the room together.

reply

What campy satire? Are you sure you watched the right movie?

If you thought this movie was well done you must like terrible remakes that never needed to be remade! I bet you loved the new Total Recall remake as well!

reply

Yes. Are you sure you're not autistic?

The only two remakes/reboots I've liked have been this and Dredd.

reply

Way to deflect my question. Do you know how to read?

There was no campy satire in this remake trying way too hard to be "serious".

There was no campy satire in RoboCop 2014.
And you're not an idiot nor a liar! (See what I did there?)

A sequel would be nothing special. The remake turned out better than the original because it wasn't trying to be an action movie. It was a real science fiction movie. And now that the man in the machine theme has already been explored there's nowhere left to go with a sequel without it turning into generic action trash.

I would love a sequel... but I'm also forced to agree with you on this one.

I rather the remake than 87 film because it had more human elements to murphy than 87; he saw his famliy more and they knew who he was not like 87 when they thought he was dead; so i hope they make a sequel real soon and i could care less what 2014 haters say because there will allways ne haters out there because they are NEVER satisfied !

The original Robocop movie had more emotions shown and caused at the audience in one scene than Robocop remake in the hole movie. But I think this kind of difference in perception must have to do with empathy (feeling between the lines) and imagination force. Both are not provided in the remake.

reply

Now, if they continue the logical intelligent narrative, that would be amazing.

You have to be joking. Logical, intelligent narrative? This remake was a joke!

You have awful taste

We must of watched a different movie as the 2014 film was an average action flick

while the 87 film was more then just a action film if you actually watched it

The original was a satirical action movie. The remake was a science fiction movie with some action, more of an exploration of the cyberpunk sub genre than an average blockbuster.

So real in fact that it had to resort to "the power of love" and to contrived screen writing, commonly known as ass-pulling, to reach what can be described as a "lukewarm at best" showdown.

But I do agree on the fact that a sequel to such a nonsensical style over substance film would be completely pointless.

reply

Yeah! Like Elvis waking up from the dead is possible. Please no sequel to this BS.

reply

I would like a sequel but this films wraps up nicely that it doesn't need one.

reply

Just deal with already.
