RoboCop Remake vs. Total Recall Remake

Same IMDB score, same domestic gross nearly, originals shared same director. Personally for me, hands down the Robocop remake was way better than the Total Recall remake. Supporting acting, special effects and story was way better in the new Robocop compared to the new Total Recall. Robocop 7/10 Total Recall 4/10.

I'm not going into the reasons in depth, but I was surprised at how much I liked the Robocop remake. I appreciated the fact that the story was quite different from the original, in Murphy's relationships with his family and the doctor.

The Total Recall remake didn't really grab me. The original had far more humorous dialogue and the action scenes and special effects still look the goods today. The remake was a bit of a ho-hummer for me.🐭

I have to say the Robocop remake. Total Recall remake was boring and very uninspired

Robocop remake all the way, surprised how much i like it actually considering all the hate it got when it was first announced from myself included. The Total Recall remake bored me to sleep (literally).

RoboCop

Total Recall's remake was incredibly generic. The Robocop remake was far better.

Robocop by far.

If those were the only two films to judge, it's RoboCop for me hands down. I always said it was a good remake that fell apart toward the end and with the family element. It could have been great. Total Recall was totally unwatchable for me.

Don't you know who I used to be?

The set up for this reminds me of the kind of thing friends might ask each other at 2:00 am, while extremely drunk. "Dude, who would you rather bang: Rosie O'Donnell or Carrot Top?" It's only a difficult choice because both options are extremely disgusting.

Both films are pretty much the same shade of pointless. One is really no better or worse than the other, and will both endure a bright future filling the bottom of Wallmart bargain DVD bins.

dude you are ugly... and have no taste for popcorn flick movies. stop voting 1 on everything you loser. I can vote 1 for all the crap movies you rated 10.

reply

Well your taste certainly can't be trusted since you gave this 10. Thats for a perfect movie, and even if you like this it certainly can't get higher than 7 or 8 for a pedestrian remake of a much better movie.

No, I have no taste for "popcorn flick movies". They are generic and shallow like your ugly reply.

stop voting 1 on everything you loser.

Wait. . . do you mean stop voting 1 on movies I hate that you like? Only one of us is a loser, Gaydolf Hitler, and it certainly is not me.

I can vote 1 for all the crap movies you rated 10.

Ok, good for you, kiddo. I'm all out of stickers though. . . wait. . . have an emoticon. 😰.

Rosie O'Donnell.

reply

I think Carrot Top would be more appreciative.

reply

Which implies he's the wrong choice.

reply

Thank you. I laughed harder than you may know, and I really needed that this morning. I like how your brain works.

i favor the Total Recall remake over Robocop 2014 (which just bored me to death). Robocop had cool redesigns of ED209 though I'll give them that but not much else.

reply

Total Recall without hesitation. It might be mostly mindless action but so what, the writing isn't atrocious unlike Robocop; It has great cinematography, far more talented actors, has attractive leads, isn't steeped in retarded american politics as overtly and deeply as Robocop, and does what it does well.

I guess the ROBOCOP remake. It was at least something a little different and probably could've passed for a sequel with a little rewrite. It did explore some areas I wish the previous films did, like more about Alex's relationship with his family. I know it was more tragic in the original, and Robocop is or isn't really Alex, but come on if my dad died and some robot had his thoughts and memories, I want to meet the thing.
