I loved the villains, I loved the violence, I loved the way they wisely "deconstructed" and "rebuilt" the RoboCop character throughout the movie - and I loved the direction and the cinematography! Amazing.
To me, "RoboCop 2" was a big classic and I'm glad it was a commercial hit too.
Not superior to the first movie, even. That is a masterpiece.
Am I alone?
Good sequel imo. Robocop 3 was trash, pg13 trash that is. Like the remake.
shareI like that he had to fight a "physical nemesis" a bigger more powerful cyborg unlike ED 209 that he just ran from. I wont say its better overall than the original but it was great. Too bad the 3rd movie and the tv series sucked.

shareIt's certainly more lighthearted and not as deep or sinister as the first film but it's a cracking piece of popcorn entertainment and it's serious enough when it needs to be plus RoboCain was a great bad guy.
I'd definitely say it's better than the remake as I find the 2014 film quite boring and drawn out. It has some decent bits peppered here and there but Robocop 2 is total entertainment from start to finish and that's why I consider it the superior film.
I can't say I agree. There was lots to hate in Robocop 2. I thought that the CGI face was completely unnecessary and looked like total garbage, the child character was good up until that phoned-in sympathetic moment, and the Nuke drug was really not a great plot in my opinion.
To its credit, I did like the main theme and the politically correct Robocop scenes.
Indeed and it urinated over the awful reboot from a very great height!
