Juast saw this at BFI was suprisingly ok. Kinda worked.

I am always skeptical about anything too experimental, but being a bfi member I got to go a screening with comments afterwards, now I'm a sucker for anything with the director giving a talk.
As soon as this started I was a bit unsure, having also heard some negativity, it was all bright back grounds and big heads. I figured I would get really bored.
Yet somehow this kept my attention. It was not perfect in fact it did not feel like a film.. nor a play, maybe a really long sketch show or stand up mix. Its pretty much hard to explain.
The weird thing is that it is all completely character driven; although there is a plot its so background that you do not see it as such, all one sees is the reactions to the plots. It is also shot in first person narrative or whatever its called, as if you the viewer are interviewing them; they talk to you.
This is indeed experimental. Not something I would do personally, its a little too much, it is also not at all commercial.
It is what it is. An experimental bit of film making. Do not watch it late at night or when tired, i felt a bit sleepy towards the end.
Keep an open mind and tell your inner film critic to shut it, I reckon my inner film critic was so baffled he/she just had no comment.
Hmmm this will be hated by most people probably but hey at least its a bit different.
By the way the interactive satellite commentary afterwards was awesome and Jude law and eddie izzard were very funny and darn witty! As was Sally. Once more proving that British film making may not be big, but at least our actors and director are intelligent.

I saw it on DVD and thought it worked fairly well. All the performances were good. There were 2 things I wish were slightly different: Michaelangelo should have been given a voice and the screens weren't soooo color saturated because colors on my old TV kind of bleed.

If you don't know what they're saying, turn on the subtitles.

oh, I don't agree with this. I think it's very clear that characters are talking to Michaelangelo. They don't look at the camera all the time... they look at the one filming, that is Michaelangelo. So at least I don't have the feeling that they are talking to me.

I also figured that I would really get bored, but I didn't. I've seen it twice up to now and I will surely see it many more times. I like it.

It is clear they're talking to Michaelangelo, but I think it's also meant to feel like perhaps you are Michaelangelo. That point works better if you're watching it over the internet like I did, as opposed to on a big screen or DVD. You're made to feel more like a part of it, I think.

I thought it would get boring, too, but it wasn't at all. Which is a testament to both the writing & the acting.
