A UK DVD is in PAL, which means it is run 4% fast, so that accounts for five minutes less running time right there. And maybe the 100 minute quote is a misprint as well, if it does run 107 or so. Did you actually check the running time on your player--because info on DVD boxes is notoriously inaccurate.
Even stranger, the US theatrical release runs 112 and has an "R" rating. The US DVD on Regent/here! says "Unrated" on the box and the disc label and runs 117 minutes, but for some reason is preceded by the blue screen stating "The following motion picture has been rated R". It was the 112-minute version that was rated "R"; that logo shouldn't be there--or is the 112-minute "R" length given here and elsewhere incorrect? Ideas are welcome. The company is in a shambles and can't provide any information.
