Would this make a good film?

My brother and I were discussing this the other day whilst playing the game. We basically decided that it could make a good film but they would have to find a way of fitting the story-line together a bit better as it seemed a bit all over the place in the game. Anyways what do you guys think?

People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people

It would be a $100m FX-fest with a feeble plot and poor acting. So, no.
Why just watch it when you could play it?

I think it would make a great movie if they fit the storyline together perfectly. Plus I think that the guy who did the voice of Alex mercer would be perfect for the role. But then again, hollywood has the habit of sometimes picking the wrong guy for it

Quite possibly, but there would have to be massive amounts of CGI and a large budget for this to even potentionally work. There's no way makeup effects, animatronics or men in suits could even begin to touch the effects work.

Maybe as an animated movie than yeah it could happen.

If they did it right, maybe. For the movie, they would have to cut out a lot of the filler missions in the game, such as Mercer hunting down military personnel to learn how to drive vehicles to transport person A to point B, all the boss fights, and various other things.

If they made the main plot about Mercer struggling to cope with these new powers, while being hunted by the military during a large-scale city infection, while he's trying to figure out the past through short flashback sequences like in the game, then it might work, though these flashbacks would have to be few and far between and there would have to be some very solid character progression.

I don't really have faith in anyone handling this project, so TBH, with the current set of writers/directors that would be involved in a project like THIS? No, I don't think it would make a good movie. It has the potential to, but odds are it wouldn't.

Alex is a monster who kills civilians, soldiers and innocent victims of a virus just to stay alive. If this was to become a movie, then Alex wouldn't be the hero, he would be the villain and I don't think the mainstream movie community is ready for a movie with no heroes.

If they could keep the cinematography akin to the opening cinematic, it could work.

i keep looking for news about this but i doubt Hollywood will touch this.
i am personally definitely ready for a movie about a monstrous anti-hero driven by revenge and anger but the opposite is a mold western cinema refuses to break, even the so called "bad guys" headlining films at the moment have a soft gooey side that allows them to be "not so bad after all" but the prototype story is one that could for the first time ever put bloody and furious CGI to better use than rebooted toy franchises, shallow cookie cutter comedy/scifi and dinosaurs ever have.
