Why is the film called Ironclad?

Does anyone here have any idea why this film is called Ironclad?

If anyone does please tell me.

reply

Maybe because they wear armor?

I agree. Just because the characters are clad in armor is no reason to call it ironclad!

Sig, you want a sig, here's a SIG-sauer!

reply

I would have thought with the time period, the armor, the swords it would have been obvious. Perhaps I have too much faith in humans.

reply

Because of their ironclad will to fight to the end?
Because the screenwriters couldn't be bothered to name the film 'Gory Fake History Thingy'?

Because they didn't know that an Ironclad was a steam powered warship from the 19th century and because they were too lazy to come up with a better name.

Because they believed the Magna Carta was an ironclad document and held John to his signature that the people were free.

I'm sorry Embee-El, but no one in 13th century England would know what that meant since there is no such term as 'ironclad', nor would there ever be. You are thinking of the term 'watertight', which incidentally could be descriptive of an ironclad.

Haha yeah when I first heard the title of this film I thought it was about warships

Thomas had his genital area encased in an iron chastity sheath while fighting King John. That's the linguistic history behind the term "John Thomas"
