Why do people dislike this film?
It's a masterpiece? A real character drama which gets to the root of the human condition... It's a master piece!

I love "My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done"!
It's a great movie with lots of humor and great performances (Michael Shannon, Brad Dourif, Udo Kier).
There is no other movie like this, not even within Herzog's filmography. The time-freezes, the flamingos, Brad Dourif ranting about Greek plays, Jell-O and everything Grace Zabriskie, Dafoe's hillbilly-imitation, the measuring of coffee cups, Shannon's greatest performance to date. Love this to death, horrific performance by Udo Kier and all.
