Mark Yavorsky

Does anyone have any info on Mark Yavorsky? There is little online.
I'd just like to know the true story, maybe some bio of him, and maybe even where he is now, how he is. I'd love to get in touch with him...

reply

I do not know much of Mark Yavorsky but Herzog and co state that he died.

reply

Really? Where did they say that? In an interview, a commentary?
What did he die of? He couldn't have been that old...

reply

I have to check that.
It hs to be in the special features of the Blu-Ray Disc.
One of the team met with Yavorsky around the production for My Son, My Son and he died shortly befor the film was made or something like that.
And yes he was old. Granted not in an age you would expect someone die from old age in this day and age but he was at least well into his 50s or 60s.

I will put in the disc soon and see what which inofrmation is where and will post again.

Did you get in touch with Yavorsky about the project?
My last contact with him was in 2001. He wrote me an incoherent letter. It sounded like he was becoming psychotic again. I didn’t respond, because I had no news. I felt I had let him down.

When the project started to happen, I tried to find him. I called the last phone number and wrote to the last address I had for him, but received no answer. I no longer had to hire a detective. I went online, and I was able to determine that he had died in 2003.

Shame, really wanted to contact him...

Would love to read those letters though... Wonder if Herzog would share them.

He lives in a trailer park in Riverside according to a Herzog interview. Try looking for him on Facebook.
