Eastbourne Rock

There are a few good things about this movie, the cinematography, some of the acting Mirren, Hurt, Davis are their usual best. I also liked Craig Parkinson and was impressed with Nonso Anosie who gave depth to his otherwise limited role as the heavy. What could of improved it was more plot development, I couldn't believe in Pinky and Rose's 'relationship', not the actors fault. The sixties setting could also be better developed maybe with some soundtrack music from the era. The mods and rockers scenes are unconvincingly staged and to top it all Brighton turned into Eastbourne, obvious to anyone who is familiar with the two seaside settings. If you are going to remake the 1947 classic, at least film it in the place of which it is titled!
