Do teens actually speak this this? (SPOILERS)

Perhaps I'm seriously out of touch with 'youth speak' but do teenagers actually use the kind of terminology and buzz phrases of the characters in this film?

I'm thinking of the phrases 'bestie' and 'bodac' and 'no shizz' (delivered without any irony whatsoever) There wasn't even one likeable character in this film, they all deserved a slap and the bald caps they sported were the most unconvincing things ever.

Umm...the language was kind of amusing. I mean, yes, I've definitely heard almost all of the phrases/words used in reality, but perhaps not to the extent that they were in the film, and sometimes just as a joke or semi-joke. Still, I was able to buy it for the most part, yeah. Not sure how they could have looked more realistically bald, but I did *love* Liza's rat, and by the end I wound up liking nearly all of the characters.

Yeah, a little. Although, personally, I've sometimes found it to be rather realistic!

A lot of the words are slang and are thrown around jokingly...but I have NEVER heard anyone use it the amount the girls in the film did. It not only sounds silly, but it really dates the movie and makes it hard to take it seriously. I didn't think the acting was THAT awful but the terms ("no shizz", "bestie", etc.) seriously made me cringe.

I was thinking the same thing O.P. The way they were talking irritated the hell out of me. I think it was waaaay overdone. I have heard some teens talk like that, but not to that extent...just some different words here and there and not in every sentence they speak.

This is what happens when adults, who don't bother to listen to actual teenagers, try to write dialogue for them. They fail at it miserably.

"She's, like, a biscuit older than me..."

I'm a teen, and no one says bestie or bodac...I don't even know what a bodac is...but we do say shizz.

fo sho (for sure) and no shizz (no s**t) commonly used around these parts(south england to be specific)
