I agree. Helping someone who's lost/hurt/fallen over etc, and even standing up to someone who is being cruel to someone else... is quite different to telling someone that their behaviour is bad for themselves and their unborn.
Yes okay, they're being irresponsible, but that's quite different to intentionally harming someone else. Now some might say that you could compare it to getting drunk and driving, but that's putting people/yourself in immediate danger. Drinking/smoking is obviously bad for your baby but it's not that kind of immediate, definite thing where if you smoke and drink you're killing your child. It's pretty morally ambiguous if you ask me.
My mother smoked thoughout being pregnant with my sister and I and we're okay. My sister smoked throughout her two pregnancies and her children are fine also. That's not to say I endorse it or don't think it's selfish, but it's not like I'm going to say to my sister "hey, stop smoking! You're a bad, selfish person. You obviously don't care if your kid lives or not!"
I'm sure I'd promptly be told (and rightly so) to mind my own business.
