All of the lies... *Spoilers*

The Sheriff lying about Wakefield being dead even though he had all of the newspaper clippings that showed otherwise. Abby's mother having Henry and giving him to a couple on the island and never telling him that he and Abby were half-siblings. I just wonder if any of these things had been dealt with earlier, would it have made a difference?
