This movie is gross, he's proud he was a victim to a sexual predator?

The whole concept is disgusting, we're supposed to think an act of rape and pedophilia is something admirable just because the woman in question is hot?

Funny, since if it was an attractive male teacher preying on a 13 year old girl, I'm sure that scene of them getting caught wouldn't have earned any applause. I can't believe the people that made this film thought this concept was suitable for comedy...

But its realistic. Young males aren't usually scarred by naked female bodies.

1. Hebephilia

2. 13 year old girls are more vulnerable. A male having intercourse with a female still going through puberty could result in pregnancy risking medical complications, as an underdeveloped pelvis can lead to difficulties in childbirth. That pretty much screams they are not really for sex until they are finished with puberty. Of course this would not have such a problem with the reversal and thus must be treated more harshly.

3. Yeah I went there.

I wouldn't call it rape. if it was the way around with a willing 13-year-old girl, it still wouldn't be rape.however it would still be classified as a sex crime... having sex with an underage person is a crime regardless of the gender.

but yeah, The whole applause thing was just weird. I think it would had been more realistic for there to be mixed reactions varying from the "envious" to the utterly disgusted. You know, a few young boys thinking he's so awesome, not realizing the true consequences. while others think it was gross that he went for somebody so "old", even if she was apparently hot. Remember, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

The adult men would know of consequences that those young men might face for having sex with a older women, and would therefore feel less ecstatic about the situation themselves.

But hey, that's hollywood for you... they're so shallow and tend to be utterly unrealistic.

reply

I don't think its anything to do with 'hollywood' or being 'shallow'. The entire audience applauding wasn't supposed to be realistic. It was supposed to be funny, and it was.

You're only a victim if you don't want it. She never used her position of power to threaten the boy into it.

In fact the only sexual predator was Leighton Meester's character, she told her younger brother that it was called "Tickle time" indicates that the brother was young or at least immature at the time it started. It could be the reason why he is defensive and changes his attitude on a whim, he is trying to get his power back. Same reason he takes a figure of authority as his chosen lie.

I think it is funny that you call the teacher a sexual predator, when he was the one who started their relationship. He had the power, in every way apart from under the law.

Leighton is a fews years younger than milo but he plays her younger brother.

She is in jail during the movie you know...

Nice...

Most of the world it's 16, 15 in France. Most U.S. States it's under 18 with a few having it 14 I believe.

The difference with it being an older woman is that she's not forcing herself on him. A man is penetrating the woman, the woman has final say of consent which is why it's not a double standard.

Fun fact:

In the past, sex involving an adult female and an underage male was often ignored by the law, and was often interpreted as a sexual initiation for the younger male.[16] Even in modern times the culture still holds this view and there still appears to be a gender bias in courts on teacher-student sexual relationships(though these cases are not always statutory rape as they are illegal regardless of age).[17] A Star-Ledger analysis reveals significant disparities when abuses perpetrated by females are evaluated by penal courts: men are on average sent to jail in more cases and receive longer sentences (on average, a man gets a 50% longer prison sentence).[18] The majority of men that were in these relationships when they were minors have a positive view of it, with a third of them being neutral and less than 5% being negative toward it. In contrast, women who were involved with adult men when they were minors, neutral/negative views seem to predominate with 44.4% having a positive view.[19]
