Cancelled?

Did this show get cancelled or something? Because they only had like 4 or 5 episodes and already a season finale. I liked it.

I don't know. I like the show but I HAVE to say, JoJo and Rob are YUCKY! They could have at least got some better looking Momma's Boys for a National Show. Rob and JoJo both have gross teeth. Am I the only one who thinks this??

I don't think it was cancelled, but reality TV has indeed blown to bits the conventional concept of television "seasons." It used to be that a full season was 26 episodes, which would be re-run exactly once, for the series to be broadcast weekly for a full year. But even the major network series don't come close to that any more.

It's like food packaging. As the cost gets higher and higher, the product portions become smaller and smaller.

All series have always varied in the number of episodes per season. Show me somewhere written that 26 episodes was the standard.

But I would agree that it used to be a heck of a lot more common to see shows that had 25 or 26 episode seasons. We rarely if ever see that!

We are lucky to get 22 or 23 episodes to a season. And new shows often have first seasons of 11-13ish episodes.

To answer the original question - no it wasn't canceled. They may have originally intended there to be more than 6 episodes, who knows, but I think that it is clear that it was determined that there would only be 6 episodes before this started to air.

"Show me somewhere written that 26 episodes was the standard."

All right, perhaps I should have used the phrase "most common," as opposed to "standard." I just know that of the series DVDs that I've bought and sold on eBay, the most common number of episodes per season is either 24 or 26, especially for the older series. (I'm guessing that the difference has to do with network specials or other pre-emptions.)
