Trailer, finally!

Been waiting for updates on this one for a while. Looks like a fun little werewolf flick.

Yes, finally! It's been shot for less than a year and they waited this long for a trailer! OMG! You do know it isn't finished, right? Relax, and keep up with it on Dread Central and Sid Haig's site. They keep updating, when there's something to update. Great trailer, by the way.

reply

I know, I've been keeping up with it on Dread Central. I just have lost alot of my standards of patience after waiting for films that are already done but have no set release date(such as Trick 'r Treat). It's a flaw, hehe. Besides, I've seen films that were finished barely a month before getting a trailer.

RWP. I said it isn't finished. That's why I didn't think we should expect a trailer so fast. Once it's finished sure, but I'm kind of surprised one is already out there for this since they're still in post production. Hopefully there'll be a better one once it is finished. I noticed one main character's name was misspelled and one that wasn't even mentioned. Still a good trailer for an unfinished movie though.

reply

Right, right, my bad. Sorry.

reply

Whoa. I just found out that trailer wasn't even supposed to exist! The foreign distributors did it without the producer's knowledge or consent and it wasn't even supposed to be released! That's probably why we've only seen it on Dread (and your link to the distributor's site) and not Sid's site or anywhere else. That sucks. Hopefully they'll have a legit trailer soon that the people who actually made the movie had a hand in (and one that mentions all its stars and spells their names right).

Where'd you hear this?

A very reliable source close to the movie.

Don't worry about who.

looks awesome, probably have to wait forever for the dvd though

No DVD, babe. Theaters.

reply

As much as I'd love to believe that, since I am excited to see this movie and would love to see it in a theater, I doubt it'll get put out in theaters, unless it's very limited.

So nice to see open minds.

We'll see.

reply

I can't have an open mind with any sort of movie anymore. With all the remakes cluttering Hollywood while original horror movie ideas get buried (Let The Right One In got 2 theaters, Trick 'r Treat still hasn't seen the light of day minus a few screenings, and both of those have been named new genre classics by the people who've seen them), it's hard to believe a movie like this would actually get put out in theaters. It just seems like something the studio would ignore and dump onto DVD regardless of its quality.

I'd love to see it in theaters, I really would, cause it looks like a really good movie minus the lead guy who looks like a horrible actor. I can already tell I'm going to be rooting for Max Ryan the most.

Not even being sarcastic, that's a shame. It must suck all the fun out of watching movies for you I would imagine.

By the way, Max Ryan is "the lead guy".

reply

Nah, it doesn't suck all the fun out of movies. I just don't have faith in Hollywood treating the right material with the respect it deserves half the time, since they normally don't, at least with projects I get excited about. I take the good with the bad and hope for the best.

And when I said lead guy I meant Chris Divecchio, since he seems to be the main protagonist.

And about that, you have sources connected to this film. Does the movie say if the werewolves or whatever they are age slower than humans? Because Chris Divecchio looks the same age as Max Ryan in this movie, maybe a year older.

I don't know, I haven't read the script. But the two actors are about 20 years apart.

Yeah, I saw that. They honestly don't look it in the film though IMO.

Max Ryan does look younger than 42, that's for sure. (Not that that's old) I'd put him at about 36 or so if I didn't know better.

reply

Death Jamm, apologies to you and Majin for railing about how this was going to be in theaters. Back when I posted that, it was pretty definite but now my "source" is completely disgusted and won't even talk about it and the site looks like some fan thing. You guys were right. This is a DVD release for sure. But I'll buy it anyway. I just hope it doesn't take years like some other ones do.

reply

If Trick r Treat gets shelved for two years and then dumped to DVD after being titled one of the best horror films in 20 years, this movie doesn't have much hope. I think its best option is getting picked up by Lionsgate for their next After Dark Horrorfest. At least then it'd get a limited theatrical run.

Lionsgate doesn't do After Dark, After Dark Films does, but I think you're right. Lionsgate is probably their best hope at this point. Either way could be good though, After Dark or Lionsgate, and I think After Dark is putting together their lineup for next year right now (I saw something about one of Bill Moseley's new movies being selected for it). Or even that new Ghosthouse home video label that started last year.
I think their best hope for theatrical would be After Dark though, since those movies always get a week or so in theaters. Lionsgate would just dump it to DVD and so would Ghosthouse. Any way it goes if it goes with one of these three companies, at least it would get some exposure other than a couple of crappy web pages and a fansite. All we can do is hope.
